Case study · The House of Magic: He was sold a broken site. I built one that works.

Stefan's previous builder left him a static page bolted inside WordPress that he couldn't update. I rebuilt it into a site that sells his shows, lets him post his own events and sends guests straight to tickets.

The problem

Stefan runs The House of Magic, putting on magic shows for the public, private parties, birthdays and corporate events. His previous builder had left him a static page bolted inside WordPress. It looked like a website, but none of it could be edited from the dashboard.

Every change, even a new show date, meant paying a developer. So the site sat there getting out of date, while his shows and his ticket sales lived somewhere else.

What I built

I rebuilt the site from scratch as a custom WordPress theme, with every section powered by Advanced Custom Fields. Stefan can now change any text, image or section himself, without touching code and without limits on what he can edit.

Events got their own simple workflow: he adds a show with its date, time and description, and it appears on the Upcoming events page with a link straight to his ticketing platform. The site runs in Bulgarian and English, with a language switcher and properly linked language versions so each one can be found in search.

How it went

Design and development took one week. We agreed what the site had to do, I designed it around his shows and ticket sales, built it, launched it and showed him how to run it.

Highlights

Everything Stefan needs day to day is a few taps away, on any screen.

Business Websites: how I work

A site he runs himself, without calling a developer

  • Edit everything

Every section is an ACF field, so Stefan updates the whole site himself.

  • Events in minutes

New shows go live from the dashboard, with date, time and description.

  • Straight to tickets

Each event and every page links to his ticketing platform.

  • Two languages

Bulgarian and English versions, linked for search engines with hreflang.

“Honestly, the old site stressed me out. I couldn't touch it without paying someone, so it just sat there getting out of date. Now I add my shows whenever I want and people can actually book. Martin made it feel like mine.”
